Community Liaison Coordinator

About the role

The Community Liaison Coordinator (CLC) will join the COMRED project team to coordinate field activities, documentation, and reporting across coastal community sites. The role involves on‑the‑ground support for fisheries data collection, eco‑credit group operations, mangrove restoration monitoring, and community follow‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Lead community engagement activities and implement the stakeholder engagement plan.
• Provide coordination support for field teams, including logistics for meetings and data collection.
• Operate the Project Grievance Response Mechanism, documenting grievances and mitigation actions.
• Support gender‑equitable access to project opportunities and benefits.
• Assist with monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of project outcomes.
• Document key learnings, best practices, and community fundraising needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Community Development with at least two years’ experience with coastal communities, or a diploma with five years’ relevant experience.
• Proven experience in technical reporting and convening stakeholder workshops.
• Fluency in English and Kiswahili; knowledge of local coastal languages is an advantage.
• Strong written communication and public presentation abilities.

Required skills

• Familiarity with electronic data‑collection tools such as Kobo, ODK, and App Sheets.
• Technical reporting and documentation skills.
