Compliance Officer (Roving)

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a proactive Compliance Officer to travel across its operations in Kenya. You will lead investigations, assess complaints, and ensure that all activities align with IRC policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Screen and assess incoming complaints, determining appropriate actions.
• Draft investigation plans, witness statements, and related documentation.
• Conduct interviews with complainants, subjects, and witnesses following established procedures.
• Collect, collate, and analyse evidence to support investigation findings.
• Prepare comprehensive investigation reports with recommendations.
• Monitor implementation of corrective action plans and risk‑mitigation measures.
• Collaborate with departments to identify compliance gaps and support audit responses.
• Champion a culture of ethics and compliance through training and awareness sessions.
• Review partner agreements and contracts for policy alignment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science, law, finance or comparable field.
• Minimum five years of experience in compliance, investigations or related areas.
• Strong analytical, planning and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Kiswahili.
• High integrity, professionalism and a sense of urgency.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
