About the role

We are looking for a skilled Continental Chef to lead our kitchen operations at Rotana Guesthouse and Restaurant. You will be responsible for preparing high‑quality dishes, maintaining a clean work environment, and supporting menu innovation in a fast‑paced restaurant setting.

Key responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen before service and ensure all stations are stocked.
• Prepare, marinate, cut, and precook ingredients for each menu item.
• Cook and plate meals creatively while adhering to portion standards.
• Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards, achieving excellent health inspection ratings.
• Rotate stock to minimize waste and manage inventory efficiently.
• Collaborate with the restaurant manager to develop and refine menu concepts.
• Train and mentor junior chefs, fostering team performance.
• Implement cost‑saving measures, achieving a 35% reduction in expenses.

Required profile

• Strong culinary background with at least one month of professional kitchen experience.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and delegate tasks appropriately.
• Organisational flair and a good understanding of profit margins.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with service staff.
