Coordinator, Vetting

About the role

The Vetting Coordinator will support Save the Children’s global recruitment efforts by ensuring all candidates undergo thorough background and right‑to‑work checks. Based in Nairobi, this role combines daily vetting activities with periodic batch checks to maintain compliance across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily vetting checks on candidates worldwide and run periodic batch vetting processes.
• Manage DBS renewal checks, track expiry dates and ensure timely renewals.
• Verify right‑to‑work documentation in line with legal and organisational requirements.
• Maintain internal HR databases and monitor the HR Legal inbox.
• Liaise with global and country offices to provide prompt responses to vetting requests.
• Escalate any concerns to the People Operations Team Lead.
• Communicate vetting procedures to country offices and deliver related training.
• Provide ad‑hoc administrative support to the HR team as needed.

Required profile

• Previous general office administration experience.
• Experience using a system or database for HR processes.
• Understanding of HR and recruitment procedures.
• Strong sense of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
• Sound judgement with the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
