Cybersecurity Manager

About the role

The Cybersecurity Manager will lead the implementation and monitoring of the bank’s cybersecurity strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and protecting critical ICT infrastructure, business systems and customer data.

Key responsibilities

• Implement plans and actions to meet Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) cybersecurity regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures and plans for the ICT infrastructure.
• Monitor and enforce IT security standards for devices, systems, user access, authentication and activity logging.
• Detect, respond to and report cybersecurity incidents, unauthorized access attempts and other threats.
• Conduct risk assessments and security testing, applying corrective measures as needed.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with bank policies, procedures and external regulatory guidelines.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Head of ICT Security.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Business or a related field from a recognized university.
• Minimum five years of experience in an IT environment within the financial or telecommunications sector, including at least three years in cybersecurity management.
• Leadership ability to mentor and coach security staff.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
• Professionalism, integrity and adherence to ethical standards.

Required skills

• Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification (preferred).
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies.
