Cybersecurity Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join a leading Information Services firm on a contract basis. Working remotely, you will perform penetration testing across networks, web applications, and APIs to uncover and validate security weaknesses, helping protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive manual and automated penetration tests on network, web, and API assets.
• Run vulnerability scans, analyze results, and prioritize findings.
• Develop custom exploits and simulate real‑world attack scenarios.
• Document vulnerabilities, exploitation steps, and remediation recommendations in detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineering and security teams to triage issues and verify fixes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Strong analytical abilities to interpret technical data and communicate findings clearly.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tools such as Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, and Metasploit.
• Scripting expertise in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and tool development.
• Familiarity with security frameworks like OWASP Top 10, MITRE ATT&CK, and CIS benchmarks.
• Understanding of network protocols, Windows and Linux operating systems, and cloud security principles.
