Data Scientist

About the role

The Analytics team at AHADI is seeking a Data Scientist to develop rigorous, reproducible analysis pipelines and databases that support public‑health decision‑making in high disease‑burden countries. The role combines strong software engineering with quantitative analysis to turn diverse health‑related data into actionable insights.

Key responsibilities

• Write and maintain software code to manage, visualize, and analyze epidemiological, ecological, financial and other health data.
• Build robust, automated pipelines for data ingestion, management, and analysis.
• Support multiple AHADI initiatives across the data‑analysis lifecycle.
• Identify and apply appropriate quantitative methods or software solutions for specific problems.
• Promote best practices for reproducible software development within the Analytics team.
• Train and collaborate with partners to up‑skill local public‑health analytics talent.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and manuscripts for stakeholders and peer‑reviewed journals.

Required profile

• MSc in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Epidemiology or a related quantitative field.
• Strong coding and software‑engineering abilities.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical mindset.
• Proactive problem‑solving approach and strong interpersonal communication skills.
