About the role
The Data & Technology Manager will lead the design, development and maintenance of the technology stack that underpins Acumen’s Green RISE Africa monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) framework across East and West Africa. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures data systems translate donor and MEL requirements into reliable, automated solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve the Green RISE Africa technology platform, including data collection, management and reporting tools.
- Translate MEL plans, data collection and quality assurance protocols into functional system designs.
- Configure and maintain Salesforce solutions – custom objects, fields, flows, validation rules, permission sets, reports and dashboards.
- Integrate external data sources and APIs, ensuring seamless data flow between systems.
- Collaborate with the Impact Manager to produce quarterly automated reports, infographics and visualisations for stakeholders.
- Work closely with Finance to align financial data with impact metrics.
- Oversee programme data management, guaranteeing data accuracy, completeness and timeliness across grants.
- Provide change‑management, troubleshooting and documentation for the live system.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software or Data Engineering (advanced degree or equivalent experience is a plus).
- Salesforce certification (Administrator required; Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder or Data Cloud Consultant preferred).
- Minimum 8 years of professional experience in technology management, with at least 3 years focused on data systems, MEL databases and reporting tools.
- Proven experience configuring Salesforce, integrating APIs and managing multi‑country, matrix‑managed environments.
- Familiarity with gender and youth programmes or private‑sector partnerships.
- Permanent work authorization in Kenya or Nigeria.
