Demi Chef – Sushi Section

About the role

The Demi Chef (Sushi Section) will support the sushi kitchen of a luxury hotel in Nairobi, ensuring high‑quality output and seamless service. This full‑time, onsite role requires a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining the hotel's standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of sushi items according to hotel standards.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
• Work independently and collaboratively with the kitchen team.
• Manage time effectively to meet service demands.
• Develop proactive solutions in challenging circumstances.
• Build and retain effective relationships with hotel staff.

Required profile

• Kenyan citizen.
• Certificate/Diploma or Degree in Food & Beverage or Hospitality Management.
• Minimum two years of kitchen experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong sense of responsibility and teamwork.
• Ability to thrive under pressure and work safely.

Required skills

• Sushi preparation and knowledge of different sushi types.
• Food safety regulations.
• Computer literacy relevant to culinary operations.
