Deputy Director, Administration

About the role

The Deputy Director, Administration will support the senior leadership team in overseeing all administrative functions at Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital. This position plays a strategic role in ensuring that the hospital’s administrative services operate efficiently and align with national regulations and institutional policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and direction for the hospital’s administrative departments.
• Lead, mentor and manage administrative staff to achieve high performance standards.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and best practices in line with the Constitution of Kenya and health sector regulations.
• Coordinate cross‑functional initiatives to improve service delivery and operational effectiveness.
• Monitor budgets, resources and performance metrics to support informed decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science/Government, Anthropology, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Master’s degree in one of the above disciplines.
• Minimum fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, including at least three (3) years in a management position.
• Completion of a recognized leadership course of at least four (4) weeks.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications.
• Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
