Digital Platforms Consultancy for Academia SBC and Parenting Hub

About the role

UNICEF’s Global Programme Division is seeking a consultant to design and launch a digital platform that will connect universities across Africa. The platform will support the Academia 4 Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) Network by enabling resource sharing, faculty development, and collaborative curriculum design. The assignment is 11 months, remote, and based within the UNICEF Centre of Excellence in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Define the functional and technical specifications for the digital platform in line with the SBC Network’s objectives.
• Coordinate with academic partners, UNICEF teams, and IT developers to ensure seamless integration of resources and tools.
• Develop a governance model for platform maintenance, user onboarding, and data security.
• Produce documentation, training materials, and guidelines for faculty and students.
• Monitor platform usage, collect feedback, and recommend iterative improvements.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in education technology, digital innovation, or related fields.
• Proven experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects in an international or development context.
• Strong understanding of social and behavioral change concepts and higher‑education pedagogy.
• Excellent communication skills in English; ability to work remotely with teams across Africa.
