Direct Sales Representative – Retail Banking

About the role

SBM Bank is seeking a proactive Direct Sales Representative to drive retail banking growth in Nairobi. The role focuses on acquiring new customers, promoting consumer banking products, and ensuring a smooth account opening experience.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect retail opportunities, visit potential customers and onboard them to the bank’s consumer banking portfolio.
• Generate and follow up quality leads, cross‑sell banking products, and participate in product campaigns to raise awareness.
• Achieve weekly, monthly and quarterly sales targets while maintaining compliance with account opening procedures.
• Maintain strong relationships with key contacts of partner companies, update portfolio records and collaborate with business‑development teams.
• Plan and attend service open days and activations, handling customer queries on site.
• Minimise customer attrition by providing timely solutions, handling complaints within defined TAT and following escalation protocols.

Required profile

• Entry‑level candidates with up to three years of relevant sales experience.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet targets and adhere to compliance standards.
• Customer‑focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
