Director, Impact Intelligence

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a Director, Impact Intelligence to lead its global Impact Intelligence team. This senior role will shape the organisation’s evidence‑based learning agenda, ensuring data, research and ethical evaluation drive scalable impact for children worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and governance for a movement‑wide evidence and learning strategy, aligning with Save the Children’s Global Strategy and Theory of Change.
• Oversee four core units – Insights and Learning, Research and Evaluation, Ethics and Evidence Generation, and Economic Evaluation – and coordinate closely with MEAL.
• Champion a culture where impact intelligence is central, resourced and rewarded, establishing clear governance, roles and expectations for evidence use.
• Design and implement simple, connected impact intelligence systems that reduce duplication and enhance data‑driven decision‑making.
• Represent the Impact Intelligence function at senior leadership forums and external inter‑agency platforms.
• Manage a global team of 24 direct and indirect reports, fostering high performance and ethical standards.
• Travel up to 20% internationally to support global learning ecosystems.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in data, research, evaluation, ethics or economic evaluation within the international development or humanitarian sector.
• Proven track record managing large, multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to influence senior stakeholders on evidence‑based decisions.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Unrestricted right to work in the chosen location for the contract duration.
