Dispatch & Logistics Supervisor – Food Manufacturing

About the role

The Dispatch & Logistics Supervisor will lead daily dispatch operations for a food manufacturing company, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries to customers. This role coordinates vehicle loading, routing, and works closely with production, warehouse, sales and customer service teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and supervise daily dispatch activities to meet delivery deadlines.
• Coordinate vehicle loading, routing and dispatch schedules to optimise fleet utilisation.
• Maintain complete and accurate dispatch documentation, including delivery notes and invoices.
• Monitor stock movement between warehouse and dispatch areas, ensuring inventory accuracy.
• Supervise dispatch personnel and drivers, enforcing company policies and safety standards.
• Track vehicle utilisation, turnaround times and transport costs, recommending improvements.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP and health & safety regulations.
• Investigate delivery discrepancies and customer complaints, implementing corrective actions.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly performance reports.

Required profile

• Minimum three (3) years experience in dispatch, logistics or warehouse operations within a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Strong understanding of logistics, warehousing and distribution processes.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight delivery deadlines.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and commitment to quality and customer service.
