About the role

The Dispatcher (Transportation) supports a critical U.S. Navy program on Diego Garcia, ensuring that all government‑owned and rental vehicles are dispatched efficiently and safely. The role requires strict adherence to U.S. Government regulations, timely vehicle availability, and rigorous safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dispatch services for scheduled and unscheduled transportation assignments, meeting a ±15‑minute availability window during normal hours and a two‑hour window after hours.
• Ensure B‑Pool, C‑Pool, and rental vehicles are used exclusively by U.S. Government personnel in compliance with regulations.
• Supervise and perform vehicle/equipment inspections at check‑out and check‑in, documenting discrepancies on NAVFAC Form 11260/4, NAVFAC Form 9‑11240/13, and the Operator’s Daily Checklist.
• Maintain accurate logs of vehicle assignments, usage, and condition reports.
• Monitor fleet availability, coordinate schedules, and optimize vehicle allocation.
• Communicate trip details, special requirements, and operational instructions to government personnel and operators.
• Assist operators in resolving equipment or vehicle discrepancies and escalate issues when necessary.
• Track maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance personnel to keep the fleet in optimal condition.
• Enforce safety standards, PPE usage, and occupational health protocols to sustain a zero‑injury environment.

Required profile

• Ability to follow U.S. Government transportation regulations and safety policies.
• Strong organizational skills for managing dispatch logs and vehicle schedules.
• Effective communication with government personnel and vehicle operators.
• Experience conducting vehicle inspections and completing required documentation.
