Electrical Engineer

About the role

Our client, a manufacturing and services company in Nairobi, is looking for a proactive Electrical Engineer to join their technical team. The role involves installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimizing electrical systems and equipment to ensure efficient plant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect and repair electrical systems, machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions to minimise downtime.
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations, engineering standards and statutory requirements.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
• Support commissioning, testing and optimisation of new machinery.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability.
• Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Assist in planning and executing engineering projects and upgrades.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and technical documentation.
• Promote workplace health and safety and participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a recognised Diploma/Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• Relevant certification or registration where applicable.
• Minimum five years (≈60 months) of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and respond to operational challenges.
