Electrical Engineer (Registered)

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Electrical Engineer to lead our Electrical Engineering Department in Nairobi. The role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of electrical systems for construction projects, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Electrical Engineering Department, providing technical guidance and supervision.
• Oversee design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems for construction projects.
• Review and approve electrical designs, technical specifications, material schedules, and project documentation.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor engineering activities to ensure timely and quality delivery.
• Manage project budgets, resource allocation, procurement, and contractor performance.
• Ensure compliance with standards, health and safety regulations, and quality management systems.
• Support tender preparation, costing, estimating, and contract administration.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks while driving continuous improvement.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
• Prepare technical and performance reports for management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and a valid practising licence.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Proven leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Strong project and contract management experience.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic planning skills.
• High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

What we offer

• Salary range: Ksh 100,000 – Ksh 200,000 per month
