Electrical Engineer Supervisor – Nairobi

About the role

The Electrical Engineer Supervisor leads a team of skilled tradespersons responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of all electrical power distribution systems at the New Embassy Compound in Nairobi. Reporting to the Senior Facility Manager, the role ensures continuous power availability, safety compliance, and supports facility improvement projects.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operations and maintenance of complex electrical systems, including generators, switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, UPS, and fire alarm equipment.
• Direct an aggressive preventative maintenance program, using KPIs to monitor performance and ensure code‑compliant repairs.
• Manage the electrical budget, providing cost estimates for repairs, replacements, and spare parts.
• Maintain the facility’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for the electrical department, recording planned and unscheduled work.
• Assist the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer with safety training, inspections, and compliance reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Minimum five years of experience in electrical systems maintenance or engineering supervision, with at least one year managing a team of five or more.
• Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. government security clearance.
