Electrical Technician – Manufacturing Industry

About the role

The company is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to support its manufacturing operations in Nairobi. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical equipment, ensuring reliable plant performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance on motors, drives, control panels, sensors, relays and contactors.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, respond quickly to machine breakdowns to minimise production loss.
• Inspect and test electrical systems regularly to detect potential issues before failure.
• Troubleshoot PLC‑controlled automation equipment, VFDs, HMIs and instrumentation.
• Assist with programming adjustments and parameter changes under engineering guidance.
• Support commissioning, start‑up of new production lines and equipment upgrades.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure uninterrupted operations and provide electrical expertise during changeovers.
• Install wiring, panels, lighting and power distribution equipment, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
• Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and participate in safety audits and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Mid‑level qualification with at least 3 years (36 months) of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and safety regulations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
