Electro-Mechanical Technician – Installation & Maintenance

About the role

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will join our FMCG production team in Lamu, ensuring that all electro‑mechanical equipment operates reliably and efficiently. You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and optimizing complex systems while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, assemble and calibrate AC/DC motors, VFDs, sensors, actuators and control units.
• Perform preventive maintenance, mechanical alignment and component replacement on gearboxes, belts, chains and pneumatic/hydraulic actuators.
• Execute system upgrades, retrofits and hardware/software updates.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic failures.
• Interact with PLCs and control software to troubleshoot, monitor I/O and reset systems.
• Interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, ladder logic and hydraulic diagrams.
• Conduct functional testing, calibration and verification after repairs.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA, NEC, NFPA 70E, LOTO and machine‑guarding standards.
• Log all activities, spare‑part usage and root‑cause analysis in the CMMS.

Required profile

• Mid‑level qualification with at least 36 months (3 years) of relevant experience.
• Proven ability to work on complex electro‑mechanical systems in an industrial environment.
• Strong commitment to safety, documentation and continuous improvement.

• Hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagnostics
• Use of digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, micrometers and dial indicators
• CMMS documentation
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and OSHA/NEC/NFPA 70E compliance
