Entry Level Accounts Payable Personnel

About the role

We are expanding our logistics and delivery operations in Nairobi and need a detail‑oriented Accounts Payable Personnel to join the finance team. The role involves processing invoices, verifying vendor and delivery personnel payments, and ensuring timely, accurate disbursements to support smooth courier services.

Key responsibilities

• Process incoming invoices and accounts payable entries in line with company financial policies.
• Verify and execute payments to vendors and delivery personnel.
• Perform day‑to‑day financial transactions, including classification, computation, posting, and recording of payable data.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to confirm all bills and payments are accurately posted.
• Identify and resolve vendor billing discrepancies and address payment issues.
• Send payment reminders and communicate with vendors to ensure timely settlement.
• Generate reports and statements that detail the status of accounts payable.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers regarding payment schedules and terms.
• Ensure compliance with Kenyan tax regulations, including VAT and withholding tax.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• CPA (K) qualification or progress toward certification is an advantage.
• Proven experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
• Ability to handle confidential information with high accuracy.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software.
• Competence in using MS Office applications.
