Executive Director – Youth‑Focused NGO

About the role

The Executive Director will lead a youth‑serving, youth‑led non‑governmental organization, shaping its strategic direction, overseeing programme delivery and expanding its social‑enterprise portfolio. Reporting to the Board, the role combines high‑level governance, resource mobilisation and external representation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and review the organisation’s strategy, annual plans and performance targets.
• Act as Secretary to the Board, preparing papers, reports and follow‑up actions.
• Strengthen governance structures, ensuring clear separation between Board oversight and management.
• Lead fundraising, resource mobilisation and income‑diversification initiatives across bilateral, multilateral, foundation and private‑sector partners.
• Prepare competitive proposals, concept notes and investment cases.
• Build and manage strategic partnerships that enhance programme scalability and social‑enterprise growth.
• Oversee financial performance of both nonprofit and commercial activities, ensuring sustainability.
• Represent the organisation with government agencies, donors, investors and other key stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in NGOs or similar social‑impact organisations.
• Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations and partnership development.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management and organisational accountability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to translate vision into measurable programmes and operational plans.
