Executive Housekeeper

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail‑oriented Housekeeping Executive to join our team at MGallery Nairobi Gigiri. In this pivotal role you will lead housekeeping operations, ensuring exceptional cleanliness standards, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and optimise housekeeping operations to maintain consistent cleanliness and hygiene across all areas of the hotel.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the housekeeping team, providing coaching, training and performance feedback.
• Plan work schedules, staff assignments and vacation planning to maximise productivity.
• Respond promptly to guest requests, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
• Implement and enforce company policies, SOPs and health‑safety protocols.
• Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify improvements.
• Manage housekeeping budgets, control costs and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain accurate documentation, records and reports related to staff performance, inventory and operations.

Required profile

• Previous housekeeping management experience in a similar role, preferably in the luxury 5‑star market.
• Strong operational background with experience implementing brand standards.
• Proven ability to coach and develop a professional management team.
• Experience with cost control, payroll, expenses and forecasting.
• Well‑groomed, articulate communication and fluent written and spoken English.
• Excellent time‑management, organisational skills and ability to work autonomously.

Required skills

• Sound knowledge of Opera property management system.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
