Export Administration Officer

About the role

The Export Administration Officer will lead the clean‑up of a large backlog of export customs documentation, focusing on the financial year 2022. Working with shipping records, customs declarations and commercial paperwork, the role ensures all documents are reconciled, audit‑ready and support the company’s cash‑flow through accurate KRA VAT refund claims.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct line‑by‑line reconciliation of all export customs entries for FY2022.
• Identify gaps and resolve discrepancies across shipping and customs records.
• Compile and organise evidence required for KRA VAT refund submissions.
• Maintain accurate, audit‑ready documentation for compliance audits.
• Collaborate with finance and logistics teams to ensure data consistency and support cash‑flow management.

Required profile

• Diploma (mandatory).
• Relevant experience in export administration, customs documentation or related logistics functions.
• Strong attention to detail and persistence in handling large data sets.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Knowledge of export customs procedures.
• Familiarity with Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) VAT refund processes.
• Proficiency in handling and analysing documentation and spreadsheets.
