Facilities Executive

About the role

The Facilities Executive is responsible for the efficient, safe and cost‑effective management of BAT’s site facilities in Kenya. Reporting to the Engineering & Site Services Manager, the role oversees day‑to‑day operations, contractor performance and compliance with health, safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily facility operations, including building maintenance, cleaning, security, pest control and landscaping.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance to minimise disruption and ensure compliance.
• Monitor service levels of outsourced providers and resolve facility‑related issues raised by site users.
• Conduct daily Gemba walks, track complaints and produce weekly facilities reports with key KPIs.
• Drive accountability across contractors through performance management and data‑driven decision‑making.
• Lead safety and compliance initiatives, applying a zero‑tolerance approach to breaches.
• Manage third‑party service providers, evaluate supplier performance and support procurement activities.
• Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders, service requests and goods receipt notes, and monitor vendor payments.
• Train contractors on work procedures and continuous‑improvement tools, including IWS problem‑solving methods.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facilities or site services management.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety and regulatory compliance in a corporate environment.
• Ability to manage multiple third‑party vendors and drive performance against SLAs.
• Excellent analytical skills for cost optimisation and reliability improvement.
