Facilities Manager – Mission Facilities

About the role

The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance and operation of multiple mission facilities, ensuring they are ready for worship, teaching, and community activities. This position leads a team of technicians, coordinates with ecclesiastical leaders and external vendors, and drives performance against key metrics.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and schedule the work of technicians and mixed‑workforce employees.
• Conduct performance reviews, approve expenses, and handle onboarding and time‑off requests.
• Implement strategic objectives from leadership and align the team with organizational goals.
• Perform property inspection audits to ensure compliance with standards.
• Oversee emergency work orders and monitor KPI performance (timeliness, cost, quality, self‑performance).
• Identify, evaluate, and manage vendor relationships; recommend changes when service levels decline.
• Coordinate budget planning and task organization with the Operations Manager and Facility Services Coordinator.
• Negotiate apartment leases and renewals for mission personnel.
• Attend weekly facilities meetings to review work orders, prioritize projects, and schedule activities.
• Organize training for the maintenance team and support regional and headquarters training initiatives.
• Collaborate directly with mission presidents to address facility needs.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Current temple recommend holder.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of construction‑related experience (e.g., construction management, project management, superintendent) or at least 3 years of strong building construction background.
• Proven leadership, business, management, and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills with sensitivity to ecclesiastical leaders, real‑estate representatives, architects, and engineers.
