Fibre Network Designer – OSP & ISP (Lepton)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Fibre Network Designer to lead the planning, design and documentation of both outside‑plant (OSP) and inside‑plant (ISP) fibre‑optic networks. The role translates survey data and client requirements into accurate, buildable designs using Lepton and other industry‑standard tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design OSP and ISP fibre networks, including FTTH, FTTx, Fibre‑to‑the‑Site and Metro solutions.
• Use Lepton for route development, network planning and documentation.
• Create OSP designs covering ducts, poles, chambers, manholes and related infrastructure.
• Develop ISP designs for building entry, risers, internal routes, equipment rooms, ODFs, FDTs, FDBs and patching.
• Prepare fibre core allocations, splice plans, connectivity schedules, network layouts and construction drawings.
• Generate accurate BOQs, material schedules and technical specifications.
• Utilise AutoCAD and GIS tools to produce and maintain network designs.
• Review survey and field data to ensure practicality and buildability.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, project managers, contractors and clients throughout design and implementation.
• Provide technical support during construction, testing and commissioning, and update as‑built documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, ICT, Geospatial Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant fibre network design experience.
• Valid Lepton certification (mandatory).
• Proven experience in both OSP and ISP fibre network design.
• Practical knowledge of FTTH, FTTx, Fibre‑to‑the‑Site and Metro networks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and in teams.
