Finance & Account Expert

About the role

We are seeking a Finance & Account Expert to lead end‑to‑end financial management, statutory compliance and donor/project financial reporting for Insight Axis Africa. The successful candidate will ensure accurate bookkeeping, timely payroll processing and robust financial controls across all projects.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain books of accounts and prepare monthly management accounts.
• Manage payroll, tax (PAYE, VAT), NHIF, NSSF and other statutory remittances.
• Prepare project budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and donor financial reports.
• Lead annual audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.
• Implement and enforce internal financial controls and procurement policies.
• Support proposal budgeting for new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• CPA(K) qualified; ACCA is an added advantage.
• 5+ years progressive accounting experience, preferably in research, consulting or NGO sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of donor‑funded project financial reporting (USAID, FCDO, EU, World Bank).
• High attention to detail, integrity and strong analytical skills.

Required skills

• QuickBooks, Sage or Xero accounting software.
• Advanced Excel proficiency.
