About the role
We are seeking a Finance and Admin Assistant to support our Senior Accountant and ensure smooth financial, procurement and administrative operations at our Nairobi office. The role combines day‑to‑day accounting tasks with office management responsibilities, contributing to effective resource use and compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Senior Accountant with cash‑flow management, financial reporting, and internal/external audits in line with statutory laws, donor guidelines and organisational policies.
- Process financial transactions in QuickBooks and reconcile bank and cash accounts monthly.
- Coordinate office administrative functions such as supplies, utilities, maintenance, transport, logistics, insurance renewals and service contracts.
- Work with programme teams to align procurement needs with budgets and support cost‑effective purchasing.
- Support procurement committees, manage vendor selection, tendering and contract administration.
- Process supplier and contractor payments in collaboration with the Senior Accountant.
- Maintain asset registers, oversee acquisitions, transfers, disposals and periodic stock counts.
- Prepare finance, procurement and administrative reports for management decision‑making.
- Assist in maintaining relationships with suppliers, partners and other stakeholders.
- Help implement internal controls to safeguard financial, procurement and administrative processes.
- Support HR and Senior Accountant in procuring staff welfare services such as medical insurance, pension and payroll‑related contracts.
- Build strong working relationships across organisational locations and departments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field.
- At least CPA II (Sec 3/4) certification or equivalent; ICPAK membership is an advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years progressive experience in accounting, procurement and administration, preferably in a community‑based organisation.
- Born‑again Christian with verifiable testimony and aged 26 years or older.
Required skills
- QuickBooks accounting software.
