Finance Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our finance team in Nairobi. The role focuses on accounts receivable support, financial reporting, audit preparation and data‑driven analysis, with occasional travel across Kenya for AR follow‑ups.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse financial data, trends, variances, ratios and AR performance.
• Prepare audit‑ready reports, reconciliations, schedules and supporting workpapers.
• Apply financial, economic and statistical principles to commercial, operational and project decisions.
• Maintain professional relationships with CFOs, finance leads and internal stakeholders.
• Support digital finance transformation, including ERP modules, automation, dashboards and collaboration tools.
• Utilise AI/ML techniques for forecasting, risk flags and reconciliation support.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, management packs and performance commentary.
• Produce concise, data‑backed insights on trends, anomalies and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure accurate, traceable reconciliations and audit files.
• Spend approximately 30% of time travelling across Kenya for AR follow‑ups and relationship building.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics & Statistics.
• Fully completed CPA(K) qualification (mandatory).
• 1‑2 years experience in finance, accounts receivable, reporting, reconciliations, compliance or audit support.
• Early‑career candidates and recent graduates meeting the mandatory requirements are encouraged to apply.
• Desirable certifications: CIFA and/or Certified Credit Professional (CCP).

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP finance modules.
• Strong financial data analysis capabilities.
• Experience preparing audit‑ready reports and reconciliations.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in finance.
• Ability to build dashboards, automate processes and use modern collaboration tools.
