Finance Intern – Accounts Payable Support

About the role
The Finance Intern will join the Finance & Strategy department in Nairobi, supporting the Accounts Payable function. This full‑time, 6–12 month placement offers hands‑on experience in payment processing, supplier documentation and month‑end financial administration.
Key responsibilities
- Receive, verify and organize supplier invoices, matching them with purchase orders and goods received notes.
- Capture invoices in the accounting system and prepare payment schedules.
- Assist with supplier statement reconciliations and respond to routine payment queries under supervision.
- Maintain organized physical and electronic filing systems for finance documents.
- Support account reconciliations, month‑end activities and the upkeep of supplier master records.
- Help prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
- CPA Part I completed (CPA Part II is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and a willingness to learn.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Competence with Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and Accounts Payable processes.
