Finance Intern – Accounts Payable Support

About the role

The Finance Intern will join the Finance & Strategy department in Nairobi, providing administrative and accounting support with a focus on Accounts Payable. This full‑time, 6‑12 month internship offers practical exposure to payment processing, supplier documentation and month‑end activities.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Support – receive, verify and organise supplier invoices, match them with purchase orders, contracts and goods received notes, and capture them into the accounting system.
• Payment Processing & Reconciliation – prepare payment schedules, assist in reconciling supplier statements and respond to routine supplier queries under supervision.
• Filing and Documentation – maintain an organised physical and electronic filing system for finance documents, ensuring payment vouchers and supporting documents are complete before filing.
• Financial Administration – assist in preparing account reconciliations, support month‑end activities, maintain accurate supplier master records and help prepare documentation for internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related field.
• CPA Part I completed (CPA Part II is an advantage).

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Knowledge of Accounts Payable processes.
