Finance Manager – East Africa & Regional Portfolio

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead BMG’s Nairobi hub operations, delivering fractional senior finance management and acting CFO services to INGOs, health initiatives and corporate clients across East Africa. The role oversees multi‑country financial accounting, statutory compliance and donor grant reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as fractional Finance Manager / Acting CFO for assigned client organisations, reporting to client CEOs and COOs.
• Direct cross‑border accounting across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia and South Sudan, managing multi‑currency ledgers and month‑end close schedules.
• Ensure 100 % compliance with Kenya Revenue Authority iTax requirements and EAC regional tax, transfer‑pricing and foreign‑exchange regulations.
• Manage donor grant accounting for Global Fund, USAID, FCDO and foundation grants, delivering accurate reports.
• Lead the Nairobi hub team of accountants and payroll staff, maintaining quality control and client service level agreements.

Required profile

• CPA‑K or ACCA certification in good standing with ICPAK.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience managing multi‑country East African finance portfolios.
• Deep knowledge of Kenyan tax legislation, KRA iTax portal and EAC statutory frameworks.
• Proficiency with Odoo ERP, QuickBooks Online, Sage or AIQ systems.
