About the role
Our client, a global law firm with a strong presence in Kenya, is seeking a Finance, Accounts & Procurement Manager to provide financial leadership and oversee accounting, billing, collections, procurement and administrative functions. The role reports to the Managing Partner and is responsible for strengthening controls, improving cash flow and ensuring statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership and support the Managing Partner in developing and implementing financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Prepare and analyse financial and management reports, offering recommendations on profitability, cash flow, expenditure and financial risks.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow planning, financial modelling and budget‑versus‑actual analysis.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, bank and supplier reconciliations and month‑end closing.
- Manage billing and collections protocols, ensuring timely invoice preparation, follow‑ups and debtor‑ageing monitoring.
- Administer the full procurement cycle, from requisition to supplier due diligence, negotiations, delivery verification and invoice matching.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, regulatory and accounting obligations and coordinate external audits.
- Lead, supervise and develop the finance and procurement team, setting KPIs and monitoring performance.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field (Second‑Class Honours, Upper Division) and CPA(K) or ACCA qualification.
- Minimum of 6 years progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Experience in a law firm or professional‑services environment is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, procurement, internal controls and statutory compliance.
- High integrity, sound judgment and ability to work independently with minimal follow‑up.
Required skills
- Proficiency with accounting systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using financial‑reporting tools.
