Financial Analyst – Nairobi

About the role

Premier Bank is seeking a diligent Financial Analyst to join its financing team in Westlands, Nairobi. The role focuses on preparing financing proposals, ensuring compliance with Shari’ah and CBK prudential guidelines, and supporting business units with timely responses.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complete and accurate financing proposals in line with bank policies, Shari’ah, and CBK guidelines.
• Produce statutory reports for CBK and CRB and any additional management reports.
• Support business units to meet turnaround times (TAT) for proposal reviews and facility disbursements.
• Scrutinise customer documentation, including KYC, application letters, and related IDs.
• Maintain records of facility applications, track post‑LOO functions, and ensure timely disbursement bookings.
• Conduct competitor analysis and market research to keep the bank competitive.
• Communicate financing updates to branch officers and manage relationships.
• Monitor the financing portfolio and asset book, evaluate risk, and recommend corrective actions.
• Follow up on facility proposals for higher‑level approvals within agreed timelines.
• Undertake additional tasks assigned by the Head of Financing or senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Administration or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Diploma in Banking, Professional Banking or CPA (K) qualifications is a plus.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in banking operations or business development with a proven results‑oriented track record.
• Strong customer‑service orientation and experience dealing with business development activities.
