Financial Modeller – Renewable Energy Projects

About the role

PowerGen Renewable Energy is seeking an early‑career analyst to design and maintain decision‑grade financial models for solar, battery storage, mini‑grid and commercial‑industrial energy projects across Africa. You will translate technical, commercial and legal inputs into robust models that drive pricing, financing and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain integrated project‑finance models covering development, construction, operations, financing, taxation and distributions.
• Model revenue and Power Purchase Agreement structures, including tariff indexation, foreign‑exchange exposure and curtailment.
• Size debt using credit metrics (DSCR, LLCR), calculate returns, NPV and conduct sensitivity analysis across base, upside and downside cases.
• Support investment decisions by preparing analyses for lenders, investors and due‑diligence, and reviewing third‑party models and term sheets.
• Produce concise outputs for Investment Committee and translate analysis into clear recommendations for cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• 1–3 years experience in project finance, infrastructure or energy investing.
• Demonstrated ability to build or materially improve integrated financial models.
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
• High attention to detail and ability to communicate financial analysis to non‑finance stakeholders.
