General Cashier

About the role

The General Cashier will oversee daily cash handling and disbursement operations for the hotel, ensuring accurate collection, verification, reconciliation and safekeeping of cash and monetary instruments. This position supports strong financial controls and works closely with Front Office and Food & Beverage teams to provide efficient cash management. The role is essential for maintaining compliance with hotel procedures and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the daily cash control process, collecting, verifying and reconciling cash, cheques, credit card vouchers and remittances.
• Prepare and coordinate daily bank deposits, ensuring timely and intact deposits.
• Manage petty cash, staff disbursements and advance payments with proper authorization and documentation.
• Maintain accurate daily cash records and reports for review by Finance stakeholders.
• Support Front Office and Food & Beverage with cash availability, especially during peak periods.
• Participate in surprise cash counts, investigations and internal control activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of cash‑handling or accounting experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Previous experience as a General Cashier, Cashier, Accounts Clerk or Income Auditor is preferred.
• Strong understanding of cash handling, reconciliation, banking and financial controls.
