General Manager – Air Cargo Terminal

About the role

Our client, a leading East African logistics organisation, is seeking a General Manager for its air cargo terminal in Nairobi. The role combines operational expertise with commercial leadership to drive performance across all aspects of the terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall performance of the terminal, including operations, commercial growth, financial results, safety, security and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and execute strategy, manage P&L and budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with airlines, freight forwarders, cargo agents, ground handlers, airport authorities and customs.
• Oversee customer experience, people leadership and development of sizeable teams.
• Increase cargo volumes and revenue while ensuring high‑volume, time‑critical logistics are executed efficiently.

Required profile

• Extensive senior‑level experience in air cargo, airport cargo operations, ground handling, aviation logistics or comparable complex logistics environments.
• Proven ability to lead high‑volume, time‑critical logistics operations and manage large teams.
• Direct air cargo terminal experience is highly desirable.
• Willingness and ability to obtain airport security clearance and undergo background screening.
• Based in Kenya or able to relocate without relocation support.
