General Manager – Bancassurance

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead the Bancassurance division of Family Bank Kenya. Reporting to senior leadership, you will be responsible for driving growth across life, general and medical insurance products while aligning with the bank’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive bancassurance strategy focused on product innovation and market expansion.
• Manage the division’s P&L, set performance targets, monitor results and report to governance bodies.
• Negotiate and maintain partnerships with insurance carriers, building a robust ecosystem of stakeholders.
• Lead digital transformation initiatives, integrating data analytics, automation and omnichannel distribution.
• Enhance sales effectiveness through structured distribution models, team capability development and customer‑journey optimisation.
• Design and execute marketing campaigns to increase brand visibility while ensuring regulatory‑compliant communication.
• Oversee governance, risk management and compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
• Coach, mentor and develop a high‑performing team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
• Streamline operational processes to reduce manual tasks and maintain service quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; professional insurance certification preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance or financial services, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
• Proven track record of managing revenue, teams and an insurance P&L.
• Strong understanding of banking operations, risk and regulatory environments.
