General Manager – Kenya Operations

About the role

The client, a Christian NGO expanding in Kenya, seeks an entrepreneurial General Manager to establish and grow its local operations. This hands‑on leader will oversee a multidisciplinary team and work closely with global leadership to deliver the organization’s mission.

Key responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day establishment and development of Kenya operations.
• Manage, develop and motivate a team of 5–15 professionals across finance, customer service, technology and other functions.
• Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, performance management and professional development.
• Oversee local operational, financial, administrative, employment and compliance requirements.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, procurement and service provider contracts.
• Prepare regular operational updates and reports for global leadership.
• Foster a healthy organizational culture aligned with the Christian mission, providing spiritual leadership.

Required profile

• Leadership or team‑building experience with increasing responsibility, preferably 3–5 years managing a small team or operation.
• Strong people, communication and relationship‑building skills, with an entrepreneurial, solution‑oriented mindset.
• Analytical, problem‑solving and sound decision‑making abilities, high ownership and attention to detail.
• MBA or equivalent education and relevant experience in finance, operations, technology, HR or nonprofit management is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively across cultures and international teams, and commitment to biblical values.
