General Manager, Midwest Region

About the role

Via is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead its first‑of‑its‑kind intermodal transit service across the Midwest. This high‑visibility position blends entrepreneurship, business development, and day‑to‑day operations in a fast‑paced technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily on‑site operations for the Midwest region, acting as the real‑time point of contact for drivers and dispatchers.
• Prioritize and resolve operational issues, creating scheduling solutions for a 24/7 team.
• Lead, coach, and develop a large, diverse team of drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and other ground staff.
• Serve as the public face of the operation, building relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, and local organizations.
• Collaborate closely with Via senior leadership and external partners.
• Define clear metrics, track KPIs, and report weekly on performance.
• Analyze data and prepare reports to improve processes, allocate resources efficiently, and boost customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years of operations management experience and a Bachelor’s degree.
• Local to the Midwest or willing to relocate.
• Independent self‑starter comfortable with high responsibility in a fast‑moving environment.
• Excellent communicator who can adapt tone to any audience.
• Detail‑oriented executor who thrives autonomously.

Required skills

What we offer

• Competitive base salary ranging from $110,000 to $160,000, plus equity and variable pay where applicable.
