General Manager – Pharmaceutical

About the role

The General Manager – Pharmaceutical will lead the overall operations, administration and strategic direction of the pharmaceutical business. Reporting to the board, the role ensures regulatory compliance, financial sustainability and delivery of high‑quality products while driving growth and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement company strategy in line with board directives.
• Oversee production, distribution and sales to ensure operational efficiency.
• Manage budgeting, financial planning, reporting and cost control.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical laws, GMP standards and licensing requirements.
• Lead product quality assurance, pharmacovigilance and customer service initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement, digitisation and innovation across operations.
• Plan workforce needs, recruit, train and retain talent.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical management.
• Proven strategic leadership and governance capabilities.
• Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting and revenue optimisation.
• Deep understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks in the pharma sector.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to foster customer trust.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
• Experience with pharmacovigilance and product safety processes.
