Geology PhD Peer Reviewer (Remote, Part‑time)

About the role

This is a long‑term, part‑time opportunity for an experienced geologist with a PhD to provide peer‑review services for academic manuscripts. The work is fully remote, allowing you to evaluate submissions from anywhere while contributing to the quality of scholarly research.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the novelty and scientific contribution of each manuscript.
• Evaluate study design, methodology, and reproducibility.
• Verify that literature reviews are comprehensive and up‑to‑date.
• Analyze results and determine whether conclusions are supported by the data.
• Provide clear, constructive feedback and highlight any ethical concerns.
• Recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the journal editor.

Required profile

• Doctorate (PhD) or equivalent in Geology or a closely related field.
• At least five peer‑reviewed papers published in SCI/SSCI journals within the past three years.
• Strong understanding of research methodologies and ethical standards.
• Excellent analytical, critical‑thinking, and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Prior experience as a peer reviewer is highly desirable.
