Graduate Trainee – Human Resource

About the role

This graduate trainee position offers recent HR graduates the chance to develop a professional career within a leading food manufacturing company. You will work closely with the HR team, gaining hands‑on experience in recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support recruitment and onboarding, including interview scheduling and documentation.
• Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
• Assist in drafting employment contracts, confirmation letters, and other HR correspondence.
• Help prepare payroll by compiling attendance and leave data.
• Administer employee benefits, statutory documentation, and leave management.
• Coordinate induction and orientation programs for new hires.
• Support learning and development initiatives, including training coordination and record keeping.
• Assist in implementing HR policies and ensuring compliance with Kenyan labour laws.
• Prepare HR reports and maintain databases and filing systems.
• Participate in employee engagement activities and HR projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, minimum Second‑Class Upper Division (First Class Honours preferred).
• 1–2 years of exposure in an HR department is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of HR principles and employment practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and time‑management abilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
