Grants and Compliance Officer

About the role

The Grants and Compliance Officer will support Kakenya’s Dream’s mission by managing donor‑funded grants and ensuring all activities meet compliance requirements. Based in Nairobi, the role involves regular travel to the field office in Isampin, Transmara West, to coordinate on‑the‑ground implementation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer the full grant lifecycle, from proposal development to final reporting.
• Monitor grant budgets, expenditures, and financial documentation for accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations, internal policies, and Kenyan legal standards.
• Prepare and submit timely financial and narrative reports to donors.
• Liaise with program staff and field teams to align project activities with grant requirements.
• Support the Country Director in donor relations and fundraising initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree in finance, development studies, international relations, or a related field.
• Proven experience in grants management and donor compliance, preferably within NGOs.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Willingness to travel to field locations on a monthly basis.
