GSE Technician - Mechanical

About the role

The GSE Mechanical Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing ground handling support equipment and motor vehicles to ensure safe and efficient airport operations. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical failures, performing corrective actions, and supporting emergency breakdowns to minimise aircraft delays.

Key responsibilities

• Service, maintain and repair mechanical components of GSE and motor vehicles according to scheduled maintenance plans.
• Diagnose mechanical defects, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective measures.
• Respond promptly to emergency GSE breakdowns to prevent operational disruptions.
• Perform overhauls, modifications and repairs on engines, gearboxes, transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Identify, requisition and manage materials required for maintenance tasks.
• Document all maintenance activities and keep accurate equipment history records.
• Adhere to safety, quality, environmental standards and company policies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production, Plant, Industrial or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive, heavy diesel or mobile plant environments.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Strong commitment to safety and ability to work under pressure.
• Team‑player with good interpersonal skills and results‑oriented mindset.
