Head of Programmes – Stanbic Foundation

About the role

The Head of Programmes will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Stanbic Foundation’s programme portfolio, ensuring high‑impact initiatives are designed, executed and scaled to deliver measurable economic and social outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and scaling of the Foundation’s programmes.
• Act as a strategic partner to the Executive Director, translating strategy into actionable plans.
• Build and manage cross‑sector partnerships and scalable delivery models.
• Mobilise resources, including blended finance and catalytic funding structures.
• Strengthen organisational capability and embed a culture of execution excellence, accountability and innovation.
• Oversee governance, risk management, safeguarding and compliance across complex institutional environments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Development Studies, Public Policy, Finance, International Development or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• 10–12 years progressive leadership experience in programme delivery, market systems development, enterprise development, philanthropy, financial inclusion or inclusive economic development.
• Proven track record of translating strategy into scalable execution with measurable outcomes.
• Experience managing complex partnerships, multi‑sector programmes and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong experience in resource mobilisation, blended finance and ecosystem financing approaches.
• Demonstrated ability to engage with boards, senior executives, government stakeholders and development partners.
