Host/Hostess – Front of House

About the role

The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, delivering professional and engaging service while managing reservations and seating to ensure a smooth dining experience.

Key responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and create positive emotional connections.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings and operational procedures.
• Manage reservations using digital platforms and keep accurate booking records.
• Coordinate with servers and front-of-house staff, understanding point-of-sale operations.
• Seat guests promptly, optimizing table assignments and monitoring wait times.
• Handle guest inquiries, phone reservations, and special requests with professionalism.
• Communicate dietary restrictions and menu information clearly to kitchen staff.
• Address guest concerns and complaints empathetically, working toward prompt resolution.
• Perform responsible cash handling, including opening and closing the register.
• Maintain an organized host stand with menus, reservation materials, and promotional items.
