Hot Kitchen Chef

About the role

The Hot Kitchen Chef will lead the preparation and cooking of hot menu items in a fast‑paced restaurant environment. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s quality, taste and presentation standards while maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot dishes such as meats, sauces, soups, vegetables, pasta and other menu items.
• Follow recipes, portion controls and presentation guidelines consistently.
• Monitor cooking temperatures to guarantee food safety and optimal quality.
• Set up, operate and maintain the hot kitchen station before, during and after service.
• Track stock levels, request ingredients and minimise waste.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and compliance with health‑safety regulations.
• Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely service.
• Assist in menu development, daily kitchen preparation and overall operations.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 3 years (36 months) of experience in a hot kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and portion control.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and collaborate with a team.
