Hotel Operations Manager

About the role

The Hotel Operations Manager will lead the day‑to‑day running of a full‑service hotel in Nairobi, ensuring that every guest experience meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate all operational departments and drive revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, and maintenance teams, ensuring compliance with hotel policies.
• Conduct regular property inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and overall standards.
• Develop menus, pricing strategies and promotional activities for the F&B department to maximise revenue.
• Manage inventory, supplier relationships and cost‑control measures.
• Design and execute sales strategies, secure corporate contracts and group bookings.
• Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate staff performance, fostering a motivated team environment.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints and feedback promptly to ensure satisfaction.
• Prepare and monitor the hotel’s budget, forecast financial performance and report results.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and regulatory requirements and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel operations with supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
• Proven problem‑solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel management software.
• Strong command of MS Office applications.
